October 29th, 2025 - The Mellow Schema Tarot deck was finally introduced to the public through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. After many moments of hesitation and countless trials throughout the making of this project, in the face of various obstacles, this small project took a leap of faith and stepped into a new phase.
With the successful completion of the campaign, and thanks to the overwhelming love and support beyond my expectations, the Mellow Schema deck is now able to share its presence and value with many people.
Over what felt both like a short and a long journey, this tarot art project began in my life, whether by coincidence or destiny. Now, I hope to carry its spirit forward by expanding and refining it into my own artistic world, and by building a foundation for myself as an independent artist.
One of the motivations behind creating the Mellow Schema Tarot was a deep sense of gratitude. Through the tarot community, the decks I used, and the readers I encountered online, I received so much inspiration and support. In return, I wanted to create something that could also help others, imagining tarot as a guide in our lives, a tool that accompanies people along their own paths. That intention became one of the starting points of this project.
I wanted to create a tarot deck that could truly accompany someone throughout their life journey. With that in mind, I dedicated a great deal of time and care to both the design and the physical quality of the deck. I also feel fortunate that I was able to draw upon my background in graphic design during this process.
For the packaging, I chose a solander box style, often used for photo albums, wrapped in textile, to create an object that feels warm, collectible, and like a treasure to keep over time. Seeing the final production match the level of quality I envisioned is something I am especially proud of.
There were many cards that had to be redrawn multiple times, either because the idea did not come through clearly enough, or because as other cards evolved, earlier illustrations began to feel incomplete. I continuously revisited and refined the work, updating and retouching until the deck felt whole. After completing the illustrations, I also paid close attention to the gold foil detailing, carefully placing each line and dot. I believe this is something that can truly be appreciated when the cards are held and seen under the light. I approached this project with complete sincerity.
Today, I feel deeply grateful that this project has entered a new phase, and I hope that this feeling reaches everyone who encounters Mellow Schema.
