Mellow Schema is inspired by the Rider–Waite tarot. It embraces an abstract and minimalist visual language with soft textures, focusing on simplicity and a quiet sense of transcendence.
Each card becomes a visual meditation, inviting you to pause, breathe, and connect with subtle energies through a delicate balance of form, color, and open space.
Rather than figurative illustration, each image evokes its archetypal essence through distilled gestures, a singular form, a shift in texture, or the space between shapes. A soft circle resting on the horizon, a red hue dissolving into violet. These are meditative cues that arise before language, like the quiet space between thoughts.
Meaning is suggested rather than declared. Symbolism is gently woven into every image, while the Minor Arcana follows a consistent visual system of geometric forms that support intuitive reading. Each suit carries its own symbolic atmosphere, offering subtle guidance without overwhelming the viewer.
The name Mellow Schema refers to a gentle structure, a framework that guides without imposing, a map leading inward. May each card serve as a quiet marker on your path, meeting you where you are and encouraging reflection, listening, and continued movement toward yourself.

Will the gold foil wear off over time?
The gold foil details are applied with great precision to enhance the subtle luminosity of the artwork. They are not made of a loose or powder like finish, but are firmly bonded to the card surface. Under normal use and gentle shuffling, the foil is intended to remain stable rather than easily peeling or flaking off.
However, as with any foil stamped surface, it is recommended to avoid contact with sharp objects or rough friction, which may cause scratches. With mindful handling, the cards should maintain their refined appearance through regular reading use.
What is the card quality like? Which shuffling style works best?
The cards are printed on thick, high quality 350 gsm art paper, and are slightly larger than the standard tarot size at 75 × 125 mm. This format was intentionally chosen to better present the colors, forms, and subtle details of the artwork.
They feature a soft and smooth texture, offering a gentle yet substantial tactile feel when handling. The cards are well suited for overhand shuffling and for spreading on a surface during readings.
Due to their thickness and paper type, they are not specifically designed for intensive riffle shuffling.
When does the order ship?
