What is risograph printing?
Risograph printing is a stencil based printing process originally developed in Japan, often described as a hybrid between screen printing and photocopying. It is known for its vibrant colors, slightly grainy textures, and its use of soy based inks, resulting in a relatively low impact printing process.
Colors are applied one by one, creating subtle textures, slight misalignments, and organic overlaps that give each print a unique charm. For this set, four different inks were used, with each color printed in a separate pass, resulting in four layers to complete each piece. Because of this process, each print may vary slightly, making every piece one of a kind.
